Recommended to set up as a secondary router1. RouterOS (ROS) commercial router
ROS is a pure enterprise-grade hardcore system; ** has absolutely no ** graphical interface for importing nodes. Tinkering with it is not as straightforward as simply connecting a OpenWrt secondary router.
2. pfSense / OPNsense / iKuai (iKuai)
These systems focus on network security or primary routing and dialing, with no native plugin support. You need to use the command line, Docker, or consult advanced configuration tutorials on your own.
4. How Can Beginners Configure a Soft Router Themselves? (4-Step General Process)
No matter which OpenWrt plugin you use, follow these four steps and you'll be fine
Step 1: First check the soft router's “ Beijing time ” (90% of failures are because of this!)
The REALITY protocol is extremely strict about time. If the soft router's time differs from the actual time by more than 1.5 minutes, the node will never connect!
👉 Operation: Enter the soft router admin panel and locate System ➔ System Time, click “ to synchronize ” with the NTP server, ensuring the time matches your phone's time exactly.
Step 2: Switch the software kernel to Meta / Mihomo / Xray
• If you are using OpenClash: Tap Global Settings ➔ Kernel Compilation/UpdateSet the running kernel to Clash Meta (Mihomo), and click Update.
• If you use PassWall: Tap Component Settings, make sure the selected Xray-core version is the latest.
Step Three: Copy the subscription link and import with one click
Copy the subscription URL, then go to the soft router plugin's Subscription Management page, add and paste the link.
After saving, click “Update Subscription”, wait a few seconds, and nodes with VLESS / REALITY in their names will appear in the list.
Step Four: Enable proxy and routing mode
